About Us


I love cake. 

I love bread slathered with butter. 

I have celiac disease.

In 2003, more than 8 years into a professional culinary and pastry career and serious love affair with food, I found out I had celiac disease.  So, I started buying all the gluten-free food that I could find on the market.  Four years and a lot of squishy pasta, cardboard sandwiches, dry cake and no cookies later, someone had to shake me into reality. My husband said to me one day as I cut the roof of my mouth on a sandwich, “Given all your training, can’t you do better than this?”  So I started baking.  And I baked a lot.  And we tried a lot of weird shaped, weird tasting “stuff”.  But now I am happy to announce that now my husband and my children can’t even tell that their foccacia bread and their chocolate whoopee pies are gluten-free.  I am here to share this good news and delicious products with you and your family! 

Our Mission:

When you and your friends sit down for coffee, and everyone raises a delightful Chef Marissa GFK triple-berry muffin to their mouths, and the first bite is taken, your friends will cry out at you in shock “Don’t eat that muffin, it’s so tasty, that can’t be gluten-free. It’s going to make you sick!”.  You can sit back and happily tell your friends that they are incorrect, it is gluten-free.  And even when they seem relieved to hear the good news, they are still a little suspicious, because something that good couldn’t be gluten-free.
